Purple Dot, a prominent residential and commercial property developer, has embarked on an ambitious project in Nairobi's affluent Lang'ata neighborhood.
The new development, named Marigold II, features 89 upscale units targeted at the city's wealthy and expatriate population. Marigold II boasts a mix of triplex homes priced at Sh42.8 million and duplex units at Sh34.8 million, positioning the project as a high-end offering in the Nairobi real estate market. This latest venture by Purple Dot follows the success of their previous development in the area, further solidifying the company's presence in the premium residential segment.
Located along Link Road, the Marigold II project is scheduled for completion by June next year. The development is designed to cater to a diverse range of residents, from young professionals to families seeking a safe and nurturing environment in close proximity to the city. Each unit, whether duplex or triplex, offers ample living space with four bedrooms. The easing of inflationary pressures has boosted the spending power of potential homebuyers, making the market even more attractive for developers like Purple Dot.
“As the residential sector grows, buyers are becoming more discerning, seeking clear value for money from high-priced developments. Consequently, developers must rise to the challenge, offering unique, high-quality residences that meet the expectations of an increasingly knowledgeable and demanding clientele,” Knight Frank says in a report.
In the year leading up to August, Nairobi's prime residential sales surged by 6.2 percent, while monthly prime rents increased by 2.25 percent in the six months to June. This growth has driven developers to focus on amenities and strategic planning to attract discerning clients. Marigold II's strategic location near international schools in the Karen and Lang'ata neighborhoods adds to its appeal for families seeking a well-rounded living experience.
