Legendary African footballer Samuel Eto’o is set to join the prestigious Harvard University in January next year.
Eto’o, who is the all-time leading goal scorer in the history of African Cup of Nations, divulged this during an interview with Jeune Afrique.
Eto’o, who is also Cameroon’s all-time leading scorer, indicated he has enrolled to study Business Management in order to improve his business knowledge after a successful football career.
“I will resume studies in business management. In January, I will join Harvard University, who wanted to admit me to specialized training. I’m going to live in Boston for almost a year. It won’t be easy, but it’s a nice challenge,” said Eto’o.
38-year-old Eto’o won the African Player of the Year award four times and collected major titles with giant European clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Chelsea.
With his national side, he won Gold at the 2000 Olympics and Africa Cup of Nations in 2000 and 2002. Eto’o, who played as a striker, announced his retirement from football in September this year.

No he does not (not for going to Harvard)!! First, I have to admit he is one good looking brother. 2nd, kudos for his achievements ...BUT...WHY do our sportsmen not end up as their Western equivalents in their retirement? Exploited, that's why! This guy should be hiring and enjoying his life with his millions, instead he is going back to the classroom to master how to handle his money? C'mon now! Look at David Beckham for example...thick as two poles combined but boy, is he living it! Life is too short to endlessly toil. I bet someone is living it from his success! This is my prediction: He will go to his beloved Harvard, end up with a trophy white lady who in turn will milk him dry/take him to the cleaners then toss him aside like a used up cleaning rug. He will then remember the black sisters who he will marry in old age when the coins are, all but vanished...and the rest will be history...
I take it back....(tail between the legs). Too hasty with my keyboard. I was challenged by a dear one hence googled him and for that I eat humble pie!! The guy has a cute family and I owe him an apology for insinuating he will get married. But I still don't see the point of Harvard at this stage of his life.
Hello sukari. Why is it that the blocks that have nothing in their bank accounts or not more than a certain millionaire or billionaire think they can do well and manage the money? If you never had 10 million in your account or earned that much, stop the nonesense of telling us how the millionaires are billionaires are stupid. Make your own billion and then come back and yap yap
Hello Salty! A name is everything, don't you think? I take it you are a billionaire yourself? Admittedly, I have never been a billionare, but a millionare? Well...one has to be modest boy!! On a serious note Saltly, have you taken note that this is a public forum, AKA social media? We all have a "share worth nothing" so we occasionally "bank" our thoughts herein although the returns is negligible! Wacha ushamba and lighten up. "Blocks" like me mean no harm just an observer of behaviours of our more wealthier brothers. FYI, it is blokes.... (you may benefit from extra tuition before they admit you to Harvard going by your post). Go have a salty meal, whilst I sip my much needed sugary tea! Salty...such a fitting name darling.
...and one more thing in case you want to clap back Salty It's "people" rather than your "block" reference. Believe it or not, some of us here are women and far from "blocks"....thank God for that!
Congratulations, Brother! You make us proud.
