Rutos Name Removed from EACC List, Says Wetangula

Cord co-principal Moses wetang’ula has said State House officials removed Deputy President William Rutos name from a long list of corrupt individuals in a report prepared and forwarded recently to President Uhuru Kenyatta by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Wetang’ula made the remarks in Kimwanga village in Bungoma County recently during the funeral service of former chief Matayo Khisa.

Wetang’ula slammed the Head of State saying his fight against corruption will amount to nothing if he protects some sacred cows in his Administration.

"The President must show some seriousness in the war against graft otherwise his efforts will not succeed. Uhuru should have started the war on the cancer of corruption by telling his Number Two to step aside." said Wetang’ula

He said if Kenyatta was serious with eradicating corruption, he should have started by telling his deputy to step aside since he has been adversely mentioned in land-grabbing cases.

"We don’t want any stone to be too heavy to turn in this fight,”he said.

Wetang’ula told governors whose names appear in the list to stay put pointing out the countrys CEO has no legal and moral authority to direct them to step aside.

Hon. Moses Wetangula is absolutely right. It is an unquestionable fact, that once the President protects certain individuals at the top in leadership positions in the Nation, the war against corruption will definitely fail. If those at the top are spared and/or protected, those below them will end up enjoying the same protection and hence freedom, because they loot in the service of their masters at the top. Those below have always been servants of those at the top in the world of graft in Kenya. Those protected at the top would fear the consequences of being implicated in the graft by their own servants in that world of graft once they are prosecuted, and once they are taken to court. Therefore they must do whatever they can to make sure that those servants below them who work for them in that world of graft are never found guilty of corruption, in order to conserve and save their own protection.

Nevertheless, this call by Hon. Wetangula may not be in his favor or in the favor of most of his colleagues. As a matter of fact, he may be digging a very big hole near his own house, in front of which he walks on daily basis, even at night. He may not be safe either. Who is who to point a finger towards the other among those in leadership positions in Kenya?

Our only prayer is that the resent action by President Uhuru Kenyatta, graduate from theory to Practice. This is because for many years Kenyans have been treated with very wonderful theories which never went practical. Right now, many Kenyans are waiting to see the practicality of this new development. But verily verily I say unto Kenyans, what President Uhuru Kenyatta has done by mentioning names of suspects, has opened a door way to eradication of corruption in Kenya. God forbid that nothing happens to derail this new move. Because if this happens, demonstrations at home and abroad might become international news for very many days to come.

Wetangula is not absolutely right like you put it. Wetangula definitely is not sincere when making those comments. We all know the president have no power to dismiss the governors but he has the right to tell them to step aside like any other Kenyan. A preacher may ask his/her followers to repent their sins but can't actually force to do it. governors should not hide under the clause of the constitution. DP might be corrupt but to some extent he has sacrificed some of his key allies and I give him a credit for that. Like I said before this is a long journey the president have started...at least one step is done and we should all support him.

Is it Hon Wetangula or Immoral Tokyo Embassy scandal? How much did this corrupt guy pay to escape justice in that graft case? What is the difference between Wetangula and Ruto in terms of corruption?

Bwana Kinity you have a point but you forget the person arguing here is a corrupt as the rest. Mr. Wetangula should be the last person to speak on the matter. The war on corruption in Kenya cannot be won easily with the kind of principal opposition party we have and a DON'T CARE SOCIETY that Kenyans have become.

This is nothing but a game, to screw with us. Why is the EACC giving Uhuru the report? Why come out publicly that so and so is being investigated? Now that the culprits have taken leave, they have time and money to bribe the investigators. Soon they will be declared clean and back in their offices. Na Kazi ya wiki iendelee. Why can't EACC do the investigation, gather all the evidence and forward the watertight cases to the DPP for prosecution. If the DPP fails to prosecute, then EACC can go public. Why can't EACC have prosecutorial powers? Is EACC not the best placed to handle corruption cases? Tobiko is just useless..

Wetangula want to run for president in 2017. Who is he kidding if cannot support the 1st step in elimination of corruption that has uprooted our beloved country? Even if the vice president is mentioned, Wetangula will still cry that kanyari is not included in the list of shame and therefore he won't step down. whatta selfish and a damn fool?

Dear Kenyans,

The longest journey starts with the First Step, The President has made a long overdue move to purge the Country off corruption. No one Raila or Wetangula should pretend to stand between Kenyans and the fight against Corruption.
We must all rally behind the President to Prosecute all the accused and allow them an opportunity to clear their Names.
What we must not do is to allow any one to politicize this noble act. Whether its Mutea Iringo, kimemia or Kamau.
Every body has a tribe and this nonsense of My tribe every time a criminal or a suspect in high office is named should stop.
Go to court for heavens sake, clear your Name and stop dragging the Communities in your mess. When they eat they do so withe their wives and concubines, when they are caught they cry OOH community Oh tribe, BS.
Wetangula must shut up, Kenyans are yet to know what happened to the Tokyo Embassy Property.
