Crowd Cheers as Ruto Vibes to Donjo Maber During Jamhuri Celebrations

President William Ruto joined thousands of Kenyans in dance during the 62nd Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo National Stadium, blending official ceremony with vibrant entertainment.

The event highlighted the government’s focus on tourism, wildlife, and the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sectors as key drivers of economic growth. Ruto arrived at the stadium in a black suit after a motorcade from State House, followed by First Lady Rachel Ruto in an Ankara outfit and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

The festivities included energetic performances from local artists, with Iyanii’s hit Donjo Maber inspiring a wave of national pride and participation. President Ruto joined the crowd in a lighthearted display of dance, particularly drawing attention with his attempt at the Anguka Nayo move, which added to the day’s celebratory spirit.

The entertainment continued with performances from Trio Mio, Wadagliz, Hype Ballo, and Moji, all contributing to the lively atmosphere. The stadium was filled with Kenyans dressed in the national colours, green, red, white, and black, demonstrating unity and patriotism.

The theme of this year’s celebrations, focusing on Kenya’s tourism and related industries, signalled the government’s efforts to position the country as a hub for both leisure and business travel.
