Kenyan Chef Dorky Dorcas Sets New Guinness World Record for Fastest Chapati Preparation

Kenyan chef and digital content creator Dorky Dorcas set a new Guinness World Record by preparing three chapatis in 2 minutes and 26 seconds on Monday, 15 December.

The attempt was conducted under strict Guinness World Records guidelines, requiring Dorcas to prepare the dough, roll it out, and cook the chapatis within the timed window. Every stage was closely monitored and verified to ensure compliance with international standards, including timing, procedure, and presentation.

Dorcas surpassed the previous record of 3 minutes and 10.22 seconds, previously held by a chef known for his culinary showmanship. The former record holder had also prepared the largest Ugandan Rolex and attempted to cook the world’s largest chapati in Kenya in late 2025, a venture costing over Ksh1.1 million, though that attempt was unsuccessful.
