Former Solicitor General Kennedy Ogeto’s Wife Rukia Dies After Cancer Battle in the US

The family of former Solicitor General Kennedy Ogeto is mourning the death of his wife, Rukia Mandari Ogeto, who died on Sunday in the United States after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Rukia had been receiving treatment for cancer for an extended period. Those close to her described her as resilient and dignified throughout her illness, saying she faced the condition with courage and determination.

Following news of her death, messages of condolence were sent by colleagues, friends and members of Kenya’s legal fraternity, who expressed sympathy and support for the Ogeto family during their period of mourning. Kennedy Ogeto served as Solicitor General during former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

During his tenure, he represented the government in several major constitutional and legal cases and was widely recognised for his role in state legal affairs. Family members and friends described Rukia as a devoted wife and mother who provided strength and support to her family.

Loved ones said her memory would remain through the lives she touched and the example she set during her illness.
