DCP Unveils 2027 Nomination Fees for MCA, MP and Governor Aspirants
The Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has set registration fees for aspirants seeking to contest on its ticket in the 2027 General Election.
The party announced the fees on Wednesday, 2 September, setting different charges according to the elective position. Candidates seeking Member of County Assembly (MCA) seats will pay Ksh5,000, while parliamentary aspirants, including Members of Parliament, Senators and Woman Representatives, will pay Ksh10,000. Gubernatorial aspirants will pay Ksh50,000.
DCP will offer a 50 percent discount to youth and persons with disabilities across all categories. Payments must be made through the party’s designated paybill and account numbers, with aspirants required to submit transaction details together with their personal information.
The required information includes the applicant’s identification number, county, constituency, ward and the position they intend to contest. The party said registration would also give aspirants official recognition and make them eligible to participate in its nomination process. Registered candidates will have access to party structures for mobilisation and grassroots activities.
Aspirants will also be included in official DCP activities, receive updates on the nomination process and be able to campaign under the party’s banner. The party has encouraged prospective candidates to use the registration period to strengthen their political profiles and demonstrate support at the grassroots.
The registration process forms part of DCP’s preparations for the 2027 General Election as it seeks to expand its presence in the Mt Kenya region and other parts of the country.
