Methu Checks on Recovering Oburu, Brings Goats
Nyandarua Senator Methu Muhia visited Siaya Senator Dr Oburu Odinga at his Nairobi home on Friday morning and presented him with goats as a gesture of goodwill.
Muhia said Oburu was in “high spirits” during the visit, which came amid reports and speculation about the veteran politician’s health following his recent hospitalisation.
Oburu, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, has dismissed reports that he was readmitted to Nairobi Hospital. He said he was discharged on Monday after spending two days at the facility and was recovering at home.
“Those people saying I have been readmitted, have they talked to me? They have not looked for me,” Oburu said earlier this week.
During his hospital stay, Oburu said he received several visitors, including Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi. Medical staff at the hospital also confirmed that he had been cleared by doctors before his discharge.
Muhia’s visit and the presentation of livestock reflected a traditional gesture of goodwill and solidarity between political leaders. The two senators met as Oburu continues his recovery at home.
Oburu, 83, remains a senior figure in ODM and Kenyan politics. His health has continued to generate interest, particularly following his recent hospitalisation and the subsequent reports about his condition.
The senator has sought to address the reports directly, maintaining that he was discharged from hospital and is recuperating at home.
