Kenyan Family Builds Dream Home in America Less Than 2 Years After Arrival

Evans Arap Saboge and his family have completed their first newly built home in the United States, less than two years after arriving in the country in March 2024.

Standing outside the completed property, Saboge described the milestone as the fulfilment of a long-held dream. “We came to America with a dream… today, God gave us the keys,” he said.

He attributed the achievement to faith, careful planning and financial discipline, saying the family’s progress reflected the importance of putting sound financial principles into practice. For Saboge, the home represents a transition from uncertainty to greater stability and a lasting sense of belonging.

The achievement also reflects the significance of homeownership for immigrant families, for whom owning a home can represent permanence and financial security. A similar achievement has been recorded in Kenya, where Nairobi-based lawyer Wakili Kiriago recently completed his family home in North Mugirango, Nyamira County. 

The project began in 2021 and has since developed into an elegant residence. Photographs of the property show a carefully designed interior, refined finishes and spacious living areas.
