EPRA Keeps Fuel Prices Unchanged Until October 15

Fuel prices in Kenya will remain unchanged until 15 October, according to the latest review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).

In Nairobi, the maximum retail price is Sh214.03 per litre for Super Petrol, Sh217.86 for diesel and Sh191.38 for kerosene. Mombasa has the lowest prices nationally, at Sh210.87 for petrol, Sh214.58 for diesel and Sh188.09 for kerosene.

Prices rise gradually in towns further inland. In Nakuru, petrol costs a maximum of Sh212.92 per litre and diesel Sh217.27. In Eldoret and Kisumu, petrol is capped at Sh213.69 and diesel at Sh218.09.

Kakamega, Kisii, Kericho and Nyeri record slightly higher prices. In Nyeri, petrol is priced at Sh215.90 per litre and diesel at Sh219.87. Meru has among the highest prices in central Kenya, with petrol at Sh218.67 and diesel at Sh222.85.

The highest prices are recorded in northern Kenya. Petrol costs Sh220.40 per litre in Garissa, while diesel is Sh224.70. In Wajir, petrol is priced at Sh228.60 and diesel at Sh233.51.

Mandera has the highest prices on EPRA's national schedule, with petrol at Sh234.68 per litre and diesel at Sh240.04. EPRA attributes the regional differences mainly to transportation costs, with the cost of moving petroleum products from the importation hub to inland and remote areas affecting pump prices.

The regulator's decision keeps prices at their current levels for the coming month, maintaining the existing rates across the country.
