Kenyans in Middle East Invited to Webinar on Building Wealth Back Home

Kenyans living and working in the Middle East will on Tuesday take part in a webinar on how to turn remittances into investments back home.

The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, through the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, will host the virtual session at 7 pm Kenyan time under the theme “From Remittances to Investments: Building Wealth Back Home.” The session will be led by the Diaspora Investment Support Office, with the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) participating under the banner “Discover Opportunity.”

Discussions will focus on investment opportunities available to Kenyans abroad and ways of using diaspora earnings to build long-term wealth. The webinar is intended to encourage Kenyans in the diaspora to look beyond meeting household expenses and consider how their remittances can be used to build assets and generate sustainable returns.

Participants who register in advance through the ministry’s social media platforms will receive confirmation details and instructions for joining the session. The initiative is part of the State Department for Diaspora Affairs’ efforts to strengthen engagement with Kenyans living abroad and promote the diaspora’s role in investment and national development. Remittances remain an important source of foreign exchange for Kenya, while diaspora communities also represent a potential source of investment capital.

The government is seeking to increase awareness of investment options among Kenyans abroad and encourage greater participation in wealth-building activities. The approach could also support financial inclusion and broaden the contribution of diaspora funds to the economy.
