Volunteers Seek Family of Kenyan Woman Living on Beirut Streets

A humanitarian appeal has been launched in Lebanon to help trace the family of a Kenyan woman reportedly living on the streets of Beirut.

The woman, who identifies herself as Selina, is believed to have previously worked as a domestic worker in the Lebanese capital. Her full identity has not been confirmed, making it difficult to establish contact with her relatives in Kenya.

Information shared by Annex Cool Chritex indicates that Selina has identified herself as a member of the Luhya community and said she can speak Kamba. The details are being used to help establish her identity and trace her family.

It remains unclear how Selina came to be without shelter or what happened after she stopped working as a domestic worker. Those coordinating the appeal say the immediate priority is to identify her relatives and connect her with people who can support her and, if possible, help arrange her return to Kenya.
