Kenyan Family Appeals for Help to Return Nurse Home After Death in Texas
A Kenyan-born nurse living in Irving, Texas, died on September 18, 2026, prompting her family to seek financial assistance to return her remains to Kenya for burial.
Lynette’s death was announced through a fundraising appeal organised by relatives and close friends, who said the family wishes to honour her desire to be buried in her homeland.
Lynette was a nurse whose career focused on caring for others. She was also a wife and mother to two daughters, Ashanti and Tamerra.
She was the second-born in a family of six and the daughter of Angelina Ndinda and Joseph Mwendwa. Her family is now raising funds to cover the cost of transporting her remains to Kenya, where relatives plan to receive her and conduct burial rites.
The repatriation process involves several expenses, including transportation, documentation, funeral arrangements and other logistical costs. The financial burden can be significant for families dealing with the loss of a loved one abroad.
In their appeal, the family asked friends, relatives and well-wishers to support them through prayers and financial contributions.
“During this difficult time, we humbly ask for your prayers, support and generosity,” the organisers said.
The family said contributions would help meet the costs of bringing Lynette’s remains home and allow them to give her a dignified burial.
Relatives have also appealed for prayers and encouragement for Lynette’s husband, children, parents, siblings and extended family as they make arrangements following her death.
They expressed gratitude to those who have already offered support, saying each contribution and gesture of compassion was helping the family through the difficult period.
The family’s immediate priority is to return Lynette’s remains to Kenya, where relatives and friends can pay their final respects and remember her for her work in nursing and dedication to her family.
