Former Murang’a Senator Kembi Gitura will chair the Inter-Party Coalition Building Committee. Jubilee Secretary General Moitalel Ole Kenta and Janet Ong'era will serve as members of the panel.

The committee's immediate task is to review the draft Deed of Agreement for the Ukombozi Alliance (TUA) and suggest modifications where needed. It will also hold talks with other like-minded political parties to build partnerships and submit recommendations back to the National Executive Committee (NEC).

The decision was ratified during a NEC meeting following recommendations by Party Leader Fred Matiang'i, according to a statement released on Wednesday, October 28.

In the same meeting, the party confirmed two new leadership appointments to fill existing vacancies. Lucy Naisiae Kashu was named interim chairperson of the Party Women's Caucus, while Madina Yunis Mahat took over as interim Deputy National Organising Secretary.

These political moves follow the recent handover of party leadership from former President Uhuru Kenyatta to Dr Matiang’i. Uhuru stepped aside to comply with legal restrictions that limit retired presidents from holding executive roles in political parties, while endorsing Matiang’i to lead the party into the next electoral cycle.

Confirming the strategic direction, Ole Kenta stated that the party remains committed to its existing alliance while pursuing broader opposition cooperation.

“Recognising the Jubilee Party's membership in the Azimio la Umoja and the importance of unity among opposition parties, the NEC appointed an Inter-Party Coalition Building Committee to spearhead engagements with other like-minded parties,” Ole Kenta said.

He added that the NEC reaffirmed the party's commitment to constructive dialogue and a common national agenda.
