Kenyan Men Overtake Ladies on Time Spent on Self Care, Says Kenya National Bureau of Statistics

According to a recent report by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), Kenyan men are becoming increasingly conscious of their own well-being and taking better care of themselves.

The report titled 'Kenya Time Use Survey' discloses that men devote 710 minutes every day to self-care and upkeep. On the other hand, women dedicate in excess of 11 hours to self-care routine in a day, just five minutes less than men. Self-care activities include a range of activities such as eating healthy, exercising, grooming, walking, and a good night's rest. In the past, grooming and makeup were thought to be exclusively women's practices.

The latest report indicates that men spend an average of 103 minutes on activities such as socializing, communicating, community participation and religious practices, which is 13 minutes more than women. Furthermore, men appear to have a greater interest in learning since they allocate an average of 56 minutes to this activity, whereas women spend just 44 minutes. Interestingly, women spend a relatively higher portion (4 hours and 30 minutes) on unpaid domestic services for their households and family members. In contrast, men only spend 49 minutes on this task.

According to the report, females aged 15 years and older devote around 7.2 hours each day to unpaid domestic work. This amount is startlingly high, as it surpasses the national norm of roughly 2.9 hours by approximately 2.5 times. Counties such as Wajir, Samburu, Mandera, and Garissa also have a high proportion of time spent on unpaid care and domestic work by women and girls aged 15+ years. As a result, KNBS plans to develop a care policy and a Household Satellite Account to accurately measure the contribution of unpaid domestic and care work to the country's Gross Domestic Product.

I am glad that men are taking care of themselves.I hope gone are the days when,"Ogango",would stumble home in the middle of the night from his chang'a den, smelling tobacco, busaa, and sweat, then climb on top of his sleepy young third wife without a"prelude".
Yes you men, regardless of age...,if you want to keep the shamba boy away from your young wife,be attentive to her needs.Help her with house hold chores if both are working.Get in shape.Get rid of that tummy.Look clean, and well groomed Iam not saying you put on earings, and braid your hair...Just look manly, and go around with confidence. That's aturn on.Ladies, am I wrong?

You got it right. Africans are easy prey for Western evilization. They are nowadays super liberal, embrace hellgpotea doctrine, eat GMO toxic junk food, believe everything from the West is good for them etc. GMO is full of soy and soy has thousands of oestrogens. All these toxics meant to weaken and control mankind

It is good if men are practising basic hygiene like bathing, brushing teeth, wearing clean underwear etc. This is not being westernised. It's simply being clean.

@ Gideon Kinyua, that's my point. And the feminization of men,and "manlinization" of women is a topic for another day for which I have two volumes to share.

Maxiley was simply talking of men appealing to their spouses before XXX.And it would be a crazy man who would wallow in a "cesspool"

What? Some women are not washing and sanitizing their where the sun don't shine? I doubt whether even Maxiley's "Ogango" would mess with a funky ass panocha.

  9. maxileyOct 21, 2023

Really! fertile breeding ground for " wadudu" or is it "madudu". Sane man drunk or sober would not move near Mama Atieno's so called " afunky ass panocha". Cleanliness where the sun dont shine is paramount, especially if westernized Ogango puts his lips there before dipping.
