Days after the loss of her fiancé Charles Ouda, media personality Ciru Muriuki has reached out to the public for help in arranging his funeral.
Through her social media platforms, Ciru has shared a poster requesting financial assistance to give Ouda a proper farewell. The post has received heartfelt condolences from various celebrities, including Chris Murithi, Jahmby Koikai, Abel Mutua, Hassan Sarah, and Pierra Makena. Ouda's passing was announced on February 4, 2024, although the details surrounding his death remain unclear. In a touching tribute, actress and screenwriter Michelle Kimani honoured Ouda as a role model and a beloved figure in the film industry.
She expressed deep sorrow over his death and expressed gratitude for the opportunities he provided to her and other actors. Before his untimely demise, Ouda had made significant contributions to the film industry, appearing in notable films such as 'Makutano Junction,' 'The First Grader,' and 'Count it Out.'
“You were literally the man that everyone looked up to. You were so welcoming, you spoke positivity to me and every Gen Z actor out there. This is a sad moment not just for me, but for everyone in the film industry. You were a role model! You were loved by so many! Charlie, you will be sorely missed,” Michelle wrote.
In a separate development, Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has responded to allegations made by rapper Nonini regarding the distribution of funds collected by the organization. Nonini had accused the directors of the MCSK of prioritizing their interests over those of the artists they represent. Mutua now alleges that Nonini, a former director of MUPAKE & PRISK, had engaged in previous financial misconduct. He claims that Nonini had shared manipulated accounts from MUPAKE on social media to deceive and exploit artists.
Mutua's tweet outlines the measures implemented by MCSK in response to these accusations. These include lodging a report with the police against Nonini and his colleagues to hold them accountable for their previous deeds. Additionally, he voices his disapproval of the dissemination of what he refers to as "fraudulent records," asserting that they were intentionally spread to tarnish the reputation of MCSK.
