Twenty Kenyans on Friday morning arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on a chartered flight after being deported from the United States.
The group arrived at 10am aboard an Omni International Airlines, a private airline. A total of 11 passengers including the Kenyans were aboard the flight. Other nationalities in the plane included 60 Somalis and 24 Sudanese.
The Kenyans were allowed to disembark from the plane at JKIA while the other nationalities remained in the plane to proceed to their countries of origin.
The Kenyans are said to have been deported for various immigration violations.
In a similar operation last year, a flight carrying 5 Kenyans and 67 Somalis arrived at the JKIA on May, 2017 (READ: 5 Kenyans, 67 Somalis Deported from the USA Arrive at JKIA) .
A total of 107 Kenyans were deported from the US last year, an increase from the 63 who were deported in 2016. The numbers were much higher for Somali nationals, with 521 Somalis deported last year and 198 in 2016.
In total the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency says 226,119 undocumented immigrants were deported in 2017, compared to 240,225 in 2016.

As bad as it is, what exactly are you doing about it? You have the right to whine and complain if you have a solution you are implementing, however small.
Well said msakhulu
The GVT Just opened the deportation saga if we can deport our own what do you expect from others..but East or west Home is best whenever one gets a chance utilize it to the maximum kikiumana unapata uko na kakitu..kickback.Goodluck brothers and sisters
You are damn right
Where is @Mkenya halisi on this issue? Sema kitu hapa
Mlango moja ikijifunga, ipya inajifungua. Tulieni ndugu na dada. If you keep your heads up and work hard and smart, several years down the road, you may be thanking Trump for the deportation.
Welcome home people. Kenya has changed, right? But all is not lost. When the curtains falls and the reality sinks in, you will wish they had brought you here earlier. Just take your time, lock yourself somewhere, breath in, breath out...have enough rest first, then familiarize yourselves to all manner of shocks, then later start planning on what to do next. I know how it feels, but that is not the end. You can still make things turn around. Just beware of Kenyan con artist, thieves, fraudsters, wajuaji etc who will attempt to gauge how much you are worth, or the size of your nest egg bra bra bra. Karibu nyumbani ndugu zangu.
Perhaps you should start a meetup of some sort and a "safe" place where these folks can meet and exchange ideas if not just place to feel they are not alone and learn how to navigate Kenya again . They may come up with the next innovation having lived here ETC. Just saying , you and Mhalisi that is how you can help ..kusema and kutenda right?......
@Kenya, let mkenya halisi be. He went thru the same fate and he is not over it.
All the best guys, it's not the end of the world.

Not everyone wants to be a landlord. Home is where your heart is.
It has nothing to do with kissing white peoples ass. Everyone has the same opportunities here. You just have to fight for what you want no matter what color your skin. Shame on you!!!!!

@Nani- I have just challenged Mhalisi an Idavethi , it is time for them to show up , stop writing here about their experiences but help our fellow brothers and sisters on the ground literally. Writing here about the positives and negatives will not help deportee. A crying shoulder, a meet up to hear these trials and tribulations as they re-enter the society would be the most noble thing to do .

It seems most people here are suffering from shame of past failures. Instead of ridiculing these people, help them reassimilate into the society. Stop telling them building collapsing buildings in Huruma is the only way out. There are several channels of investment.
Not sure anyone suggested anything like building collapsing buildings Kama za Huruma. What exactly is your point?
Continue writing all the crap u want but u will still
Continue to kiss the mzungu ass,pay his taxes build his roads n bridges work doubles n triples without sleeping in the houses I bought paying mortgages zenye haziishi n bills but I will only wish u the best n pray that yr God opens yr eyes n invest sweet home kenya otherwise if u don’t i repeat u will come hang yrself.I repeat I thank mwenye nyaga that I made such a smart move of moving back.hio kizungu mingi hauwasaindii huko majuu sodom! So Guys continue with yr modern slaverly za majuu.
East or west home is the best
@Mkenyahalisi, it's never that serious boss. Live a little and see humor in most things. I just got back from Kenya two weeks ago after a couple of months stay and I will be back again in May-June. I saw the benefits of Kenya many moons ago and jumped on it, way before you did. I come to your club on occasion and know lots of those ex diaspora guys. Just so you know, my favorite wait person at your club is Wairimu - tee hee. I am back and forth a lot because I have a very sweet gig here which can be done from anywhere in the world as long as I have internet access.
As for helping those guys whose luck ran out, that is one complicated issue. What exactly is the reason that they were deported? Do they really need help? Jobs and capital in Kenya are quite scarce. They will be competing with many many people. In my case, the only assistance I probably could provide is a job in a mjengo. I cannot imagine an ex diaspora person being humble enough to take such a job....do these guys have relatives that can cushion them? That said, I couldn't imagine having to start over in Kenya. Two people I know that were deported because of alcoholism related crimes have had their lives spiral out of control in Kenya. One actually just hangs around a matatu terminus after living here for almost 20 years. Sometimes, one would like to help but coming up with an assistance plan is a very complicated issue. I really wish them well though..
Exactly!
Very very true @Nani.Life in Diaspora is ok but for me I saw it like Very very FAKE.Many pretend to b happy comfortable but they r not.And coz I love my kenyans in Diaspora coz I leaved there I like encoranging them to invest kinda something hapa home coz shit happens n the only option ur left with is to yes pack n come back but if u leaved many years there but ignored our shithole country as many idiots will call it then u come back with nothing n suffer more than locals??U can even buy 2 plots for cheap n incase shit happens 5/10 years dwn u come home yr plots will b costing millions n Mayb u bot it cheap.U sell one u use that cash to build on the empty one then ur settled 80% all u have to worry is food. But Diaspora think we poke holes on them by pushing them. All I try is to help n educated pple that where u leave in that mzungu country will never b completely be yr home n if u have made it home please don’t put all yr eggs there coz shit happens like this many deported Kenyans
Nothing we can do, they have tried to go and look for a fortune ,is not like miguna miguna so called, who think he own or can control kenya follow the law ,fill the immigration papers, give your passport for a stump ,get the visa if needed then be free ,lakini stupid man you think you know, you a loser ,,wait,,
This is great lesson for the once left in the US and elsewhere.Kenya is your home and it will always be your home, stop sticking your head in the sand pretending that this may never happen to you because you are good boy there and following the law,you might be the one being told Karibu nyumbani next time around.its never late to start investing home for tomorrow, and by tomorrow it may mean in all kinds of ways, you might be here through this kind of a situation,in a box or you have aged and can’t work anymore.its just a thought.💭
What’s social security for?
From all your comments we can pick out a few things;
*Life in a foreign land can be fickle. Have a plan B in your country of origin, just in case. Read people's comments with an open mind and sniff out the best advice.
*Investing can be done in doses. Put money down on an asset or build an asset now, and benefit from it's long term growth. Alternatively, learn some skills you can transfer.
*Keep working/fine tuning on your "return home plans", even though circumstances force you to make adjustments every so often. Growing children are on example of circumstances that force change of plans.
My situation is not dire and so I am not at any risk. However I don't fathom the idea of growing old in +1, so I am doing my best to prepare my return to 254. If I left today, I would not lack an abode or some income.
Hit the nail in the head, verbatim!
Best advice yet- covered many areas in simple points!I particularly like the skill transfer part as not everyone is business savvy or want to lose sleep with "investments"
Well said @MaragA. I could not have said any better than you did.
Jimmy Carter" American s want a jerk to be their President"
He made all other American presidents look like little angels..
Before you know tit for tat will be enforced in rest of the world like Russia and Chinese are doing.

Question... maybe the Lawyers here can answer...
What happens to the deportee families... children and/or spouse?... child support issues etc?
When one is picked up and is finally deported... can he or she access their bank accounts?
What happens to all their stuff... household furniture, electronics, clothes, car etc?
In a situation that one had a mortgage... or was renting... or had a car payment etc... what happens?
Is all your money and properties confiscated by the State coz they deem that you earned them illegally by virtue of being in the US illegally?
We all maybe aware of the actual deportation of an individual... but we have no idea of the way that individual is affected more than the forced relocation.
most black people in america endure a life of indignity. even when you achieve the proverbial american dream and move into an upscale neighborhood mostly populated by whites you will still be made to feel unwelcome. So why insist on living here where you always treated like a scourge to society. Best to work on an exit strategy early because continuing to live here will negatively impact your mental health and sociological well being.
U r the only u r the one to blame yrself!whether u have papers or not.Kenya is yr home but if ur so damm n make West or Diaspora home n u refuse to have kakitu nyumbani don’t blame anybody other than u when shit happens
