British MP Under Fire for Renting Kenyatta Family’s Sh150 Million Apartment in London

British Member of Parliament Emma Hardy says she was not aware that a flat she lived in is owned by President Kenyatta’s family.

The ownership of the Sh152 million (£1 million) flat located in London was revealed in an investigative report released this month by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).

The report dubbed Pandora Papers exposed how wealthy individuals used offshore tax havens to hide assets worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

It showed that the Kenyatta family owned a network of 13 offshore companies, one of which had US$30 million (Sh3.31 billion).

The London property is registered under Milrun International Limited, a company set up by Uhuru’s mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta and her two daughters Kristina and Anna in 1999.

MP Hardy, who occupied the house as recently as August 2021, landed in trouble after it emerged that she used taxpayers money to fund her stay there.

The 42-year-old allegedly rented the apartment when away from her constituency on parliamentary business and paid Sh395,000 (£2,600) per month as rent.

In her defense, Hardy explained that she was not aware of the shadowy management of the apartment prior to signing a lease.

“Emma had absolutely no knowledge of this. She signed a standard tenancy agreement through a reliable agency approved by the independent organisation that administers MPs’ accommodation costs.”

“She is shocked at what this investigation has uncovered, and believes it shows why more transparency is urgently needed,” her representative said in a statement.

Hardy is a Labor Party politician and has been the MP for Kingston upon Hull West and Hessle since 2017.

It’s a pity that some tumutu barking jambazi Ruto is the only corrupt person in Kenya are silent on expired muuaji Kamau’s family illegal activities.None of them challenged jambazi Uhuru to resign when he confessed leading other gangsters to loot shs 730b.per year from hungry billionaires.Their silence can only be attributed to their belief that they are represented by conman Amollo Oginga(who like Ruto gets his loot share) in EATING.

Why is this tenant being vilified yet he didn’t have the, ‘ pandora relegations’ at hand?

Did those judging her had the allegations made prior to publishing? Whose ever asked for property ownership went renting an apartment or house? Give me a break! That’s far fetched and uncalled for!
