Kenyan Family in Agony over Daughter Missing in the UK

The family of a Kenyan woman who went missing in London, the United Kingdom three weeks ago is appealing for information regarding her whereabouts.

24-year-old Maureen Gitau was last seen on the evening of December 5th leaving her home in Lewisham, South East London.

Her friends and family reported her missing on December 10th after trying to reach her for five days in vain, according to Metropolitan Police.

Maureen’s mother Jane said it is agonizing to spend the Christmas holiday without her and the family is desperate to have her return home.

“It is so hard not to have Maureen at home with us, especially at Christmas. Maureen is much-loved and is such an important part of our lives,” Jane said. “We are desperate to have her back home with us. If anyone knows where Maureen is, let us know. Maureen – please come home to us.”

In a statement, Sergeant Clare Espline from the Missing Person Team covering Lewisham said there is no evidence that Maureen has “come to any harm.”

“Since Maureen was reported missing a great deal of work has gone into trying to locate her including speaking to those who know Maureen, mobile phone work and checking any known addresses Maureen could have links to,” the detective said.

“Unfortunately, this work has yet to lead to us locating her. If you can help us find Maureen, then please get in contact immediately.”

Maureen was last seen wearing black jeans, a black top and black jacket. She described to have short black hair with brown highlights at the top.

She has links to the Lewisham, Charlton, Woolwich and Deptford areas.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts or seen her is asked to contact police on 999 quoting the reference 22MIS043761.

We have many children of Kenyan descent who are always missing while overseas. Majority are later found not alive . This seems to be a brewing time bomb and no one is addressing it. Are our youth depressed? Suicidal? Why what is the cause of all those . A sharp mind needs to address this menace going with these youngsters.

In US, I will probably say that she’s dead already, in UK, I will probably say that she’s hiding with unapproved lover!!! I maybe wrong but US is full of extraordinary criminals!!! Go home girl to your family if you haven’t started one already!!!

All kidding apart, I wish that the young lady is found safe and sound!
