President Ruto Directs Foreign Affairs Ministry to Open an Embassy in Budapest, Hungary

President Ruto has directed the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs to open an embassy in Budapest, Hungary.

Ruto made the directive following his meeting with the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Dr. László Kövér, at State House, Nairobi, on Tuesday.

The president said the process should begin immediately and the embassy should be up in a year or two in a bid to escalate the relations between Kenya and Hungary.

Ruto expressed Kenya’s gratitude to the Hungarian government for the Sh6.2 billion support that will go into the setting up of the Dedan Kimathi Comprehensive Cancer Management in Nyeri.

The funds will also go towards the establishment of the Kabonyo Regional Service and Training Centre of Excellence and the rehabilitation of the Ahero Irrigation Scheme in Kisumu County.

"The world is at a crossroads: Do we continue with fossil fuels and burn the globe or do we go the clean energy route and save the world," said Ruto.

On his part, Dr. Kövér hailed the parliaments of the two countries for their role in strengthening the relations between Kenya and Hungary.

The Hungarian Speaker also reiterated his country’s commitment to mitigating the effects of climate change.

Kenya mainly exports cut flowers, fruits, vegetables, tobacco, and fish to Hungary. There are more opportunities in meat, clothing, dairy, and pharmaceutical products.

The former eastern European countries are known for that.
The Western world is all tears for Ukraine re Invasion by Russia
Yet, when they were evacuating the East away from the Russians, they were preventing a few black people from boarding the trains at gun point.
You are more likely to be mugged and robbed in one of those countries than in Kibera or River Road. Please don't visit or transit thru there. Forewarned is Forearmèd.

where is the money Mr. President? People are starving and struggling to make ends meet, and you want us to open an embassy? The country cannot maintain the embassies we have right now. Please, could we deal with the most pressing issues at home instead of entertaining the Europeans.
