Damarie Kalonzo, the daughter of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, has made a name for herself in the legal field in the United Kingdom.

Following in her father's footsteps, who established his own law firm in the 1980s, Damarie currently holds the position of Global Human Rights Assistant at Rights and Security International (RSI). Her role involves documenting human rights violations committed in the name of national security and studying national security legislation in developing nations across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Previously, Damarie worked as a lecturer at Leeds University, where she taught research skills to second-year law students. Notably, she also completed her undergraduate studies at the same institution, which has a long history dating back to 1874.

Since September 2021, Damarie has been holding her current position having previously worked as a Communications and Programmes Associate at Amnesty International Kenya. She finished her high school education in 2015 at Kianda High School, earning an impressive A- in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). She later attended Brookhouse International School before pursuing an undergraduate degree in law at Leeds University where she graduated in 2018.

She then pursued a Master's Degree in International Human Rights at Leeds University, which she completed with distinction in 2019. Currently, Damarie is on the verge of completing her PhD, where she is researching the legacy of colonial welfare in Kenya and its impact on the care of children with disabilities. Throughout her time in the UK, Damarie has taken on top leadership roles, including serving as the President of the East African Society when pursuing her undergraduate studies. Damarie taps her inspiration from her father's political journey and she continues to polish her leadership skills working in the UK.

Nepo baby! See how their kids are sped through life, getting ahead while for the common mwananchi, Kalonzo does not want Kenya to progress too fast.
