Government Plans to Strengthen Diaspora Unity and Document Kenyans Abroad

Undocumented children who are born in foreign countries to Kenyan parents face significant challenges, especially in nations where legal systems penalize births that occur outside marriage.
During a recent interview, the Principal Secretary of Diaspora Affairs Roseline K. Njogu provided insights into the initiatives that have been implemented to address these issues and strengthen the relationship with the Kenyan diaspora. One important development that she highlighted is the utilization of DNA sampling to confirm the parentage of Kenyan children who are born overseas. In countries where obtaining documentation is hindered by legal barriers, this process ensures that children with Kenyan heritage have the right to Kenyan citizenship.
This endeavour has been a vital step in obtaining essential documentation, such as birth certificates and passports, which in turn grants access to education, healthcare, and other crucial services. Njogu emphasizes that the government's primary focus has been on establishing a solid foundation of support for the diaspora community. Successful evacuation efforts during times of crisis, such as the Sudan conflict, have played a significant role in fostering trust within the diaspora. These actions not only demonstrated the government's commitment to the safety and well-being of Kenyan citizens abroad but also paved the way for broader discussions regarding investment and collaboration.
According to the PS, the diaspora engagement strategy has outlined the upcoming priorities focusing on various aspects such as diaspora investments, job opportunities, skills and technology transfer, and the expansion of trade routes for Kenyan products overseas. Njogu says that the government has introduced incentives for diaspora investments, similar to those offered to foreign investors. However, this process requires collaboration and the establishment of trust. Njogu recognizes the importance of a structured approach to facilitate diaspora investments and ensure that incentives are effectively communicated and accessible to the diaspora community.
Njogu emphasizes the significance of collaboration with diaspora-driven ideas. She states that the government's role extends beyond providing incentives; it also involves assisting diaspora groups in overcoming obstacles, accessing resources, and refining products and services for diaspora markets. Despite ongoing challenges in documenting Kenyans abroad, as the process remains voluntary, Njogu emphasizes the need to build trust with the diaspora community. This approach is inspired by successful models implemented in other countries. The government seeks to establish a setting in which members of the diaspora willingly engage in the process of documentation.

Yeah that trust thing will be a problem. I can't think of any circumstances where I'd give the Kenya government my DNA. As for investing,we don't need special treatment, just lower the tax rates, remove the red tape and bureaucratic interference, streamline and speed up the judicial process for everyone. Investments and growth will follow and tax revenues will rise.

I could not have said it better!
1. No one is going to give dna to a corrupt system. What for?
2. If a Kenyan has kids born in US, Canada,Germay etc, they are citizens of that country, What is this undocumented stuff? Undocumented is a coined term in these countries for people who have overstayed or sneaked in these countries.
3. Ati becoming a kenyan citizen, you enjoy what? Health care , education and what else? Aren't the rich runni ng from Kenya to get treated in these countries? So how would a kid born in Canada enjoy medical resources in Kenya. If you stay in a Kenyan hospital for two weeks, you are looking for a one to a two million shillings dead or alive!
This diaspora stuff is the best thing since sliced bread for this Ruto regime.

Them corrupt morons think that they can con the diaspora as easily as they con the gullible people within the shìthole who knows no better! Those people have been brainwashed and manipulated to believe that things are going very well and almost no corruption! You tell them that looking from outside, things looks really bad!
They just say, I didn’t think it was that bad, love your country!!!
But I do love ❤️ my country, my home, The United States of America 🇺🇸

I have to presume the undocumented stuff is someone's editorial and not Njogu's. I reason she is aware that if you are living in countries with decent health care, your child will be documented and a citizen by birth in all but one country in the Americas with Colombia having a restriction. BTW do Americans go to Kenya for medical treatment like they do to Mexico?

Precisely @mundumugo! Every Kenyan government official is a crook! Njogu knows she is lying but she still continues to put up her face here to lie!
You give them your confidential details and they will use it to do corruption deals - that is even Ruto himself will compromise your information to do corrupt deals! The fish is terribly rotten from the head to the tail!

@toto, the girl may be lying but she not ugly as you want us to buy your shit! I know you, I have seen your physical appearance, and you certainly don’t come any where close to Njogu’s looks! Let’s be truthful here!
You can discredit Njogu for carrying on a monologue of lies about the opportunities available in Kenya, but you cannot call her ugly unless you are a lisbo! I won’t even take your offer for a night of sex had you been the only two legged creature in the face of the earth!
I would use an alternative measure of beating my meat because you are very ‘vagly’ indeed! Glaring, you are very unattractive @atotogirl!

Toto girl, I hate to burst your inflated balloon but I would give you a minus eleven (-11) in a beauty scale of 1 to 10. On the other had, I would give Njogu roughly 7 on the same beauty scale! You do the math &totoshit!
