Comedian Eric Omondi Arrested over the Raunchy "Wife Material" Show
Comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested for illegally producing and distributing the “Wife Material” show that is considered raunchy.
Omondi was picked up by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) compliance officers on Thursday.
He is accused of violating the provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya by producing and distributing unauthorized films dubbed "Wife Material."
“The Board will take all possible legal means to curb production and exhibition of unauthorized films on any platform meant for public exhibition. Protection of children from exposure to harmful content remains our core mandate and any artist producing any content for public consumption must ensure that they comply with the provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya,” KFCB CEO Ezekiel Mutua said in a statement.
There was an uproar on social media on Thursday after lewd videos of Omondi’s show went viral online, with users calling for his arrest and the banning of the show.

I’m not a fan of Eric but I don’t see anything with the show. If a tv network agreed to air the show then hold them responsible not Eric. So much raunchy tv shows are aired in Kenyan TVs when the western world, why don’t they ban those first. If these people are trying to act like moral police then clean up the government first.

Attention,and effort totally misdirected. Do these TVs have an OFF and ON switches? Its not the government's place to baby sit kids when parents fail.
Kids learn bad behavior from adults. Are we telling children," I can misbehave,but you cannot because Iam an adult".
Take pornography for example.Parents can block porn sites.
What example are adults showing when adults are seen dating teenagers,and even younger...people,especially men.
What moral models are they when they come home drunk beat,and belittle kids mother infront of them?What example do they show the kids when they are caught stealing,or impregnating mpango wa kando.
Omondi is just displaying on the screen,what society is actually like.So lets not pretend that we are holier than thou.
Let adults set good,and moral examples to our youths,and they will be fine.

@ maxiley you got it totally wrong. Not everyone in society is doing evil of Sodom he is promoting. He's recruiting society to be Gomorrah. What you tolerate you allow to fester.
