Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth has announced that he is contesting the Nairobi gubernatorial seat as an independent.
Kenneth, who lost to Senator Mike Sonko in the Jubilee primaries after garnering 62,504 votes against Sonko’s 138,185 votes, says his decision was prompted by a “sham Jubilee Party nominations full of irregularities.”
In a media briefing held at his campaign headquarters in Nairobi, Kenneth doubted the qualifications of Sonic to be Nairobi Governor, saying Sonko has no managerial experience. “You can’t say you will do the politics while another person will be the manager. Nairobi cannot survive with a figure head Governor,” said Kenneth.
Kenneth said he will name his running mate next week.

Huyu jamaa amechanganyikiwa, kwanza nani alimwambia akuje Nairobi badala ya Murang'a.Hata kama angechaguliwa na Jubilee ticket there's no way he could beat Kidero.
Uiii mundu wa nyumba, hiyo hutawesmake, go back to private life peacefully
How will these independent governors operate without any MCAs in their party? All the drama MCAs have been having for those 5 yrs impeaching governors
Peter Kenneth, in 2013 we asked you to run for Governor in Muranga and you did not listen because of your arrogance. You wanted to be president but Wananchi rejected you mercilessly. In 2017 people advised you again to run for governor in the same Muranga, your county and again you have refused to listen. Let me tell you, my friend, only a fool makes the same mistake twice. You want to be like Raila? Ok, you got it! Both of you will be sent home like a whipped dog running away with a tail coiled between its legs. You just want to spoil for Sonko and Jubillee but remember muugi ni mutaare. Forget running as an independent and winning that seat.
Un-thankful PK think he can win Nairobi as Independent. Uongo tupu you will not make it. People have not forgotten you joined Jubilee few months ago and today you are out.
