Five People, including Four AP Officers Killed in an IED Attack in Baure, Lamu County

Four Administration Police (AP) officers and one civilian were killed and two other officers are missing and feared abducted after their vehicle, an armored personnel carrier, ran over an IED in Baure area in Lamu County on Wednesday morning around 9am.

The officers belonged to the Mangai Rapid Border Patrol Unit and were reportedly on their way to Mokowe in Lamu West to refuel their vehicle when the attack occurred.

Al Shabaab is suspected to have been involved in the attack.
