Maina Kageni with 1% Support for Nairobi Women Representative Seat
Classic 105 presenter Maina Kageni has emerged third in an opinion poll in the race for the Nairobi Women Representative seat.
In the poll, Maina trailed ODM’s Esther Passaris and Rachel Shebesh of Jubilee Party with just 1% of Nairobians supporting him for the seat. Passari has 57% support while Shebesh, the incumbent, enjoys 24% support.
The survey was conducted by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA).
Kageni caused stirred a last month after he announced plans for vie for the seat as an independent candidate. Although he said he has been cleared by the IEBC to run for the seat, Kageni candidature has been viewed by many as a joke, because the seat Women Rep seats were meant to be occupied by women to create more gender parity in the Kenyan parliament. He chose a wig as his symbol.

Something is not right here. Women rep' was created for women only. Maina must be lying or he need to do Caitlyn Jenner form of surgery

Why has FIDA or Maendeleo ya wanawake not condemned this guy. Stop making a mockery of Women and the women rep position. How did he even get cleared by IEBC. Women are Under represented in Parliament and this guy comes about with his cartoonish behavior.Who has paid him to split the votes he is suppose to be moneyed so why is he even running in the first place .Anything for 15 minutes of fame.
The useless katiba is silent on which gender to hold that useless seat.But the big question is-Should Kenyans pay the women rep.whose main duties are sexual servicer to men MPs?
