Jubilee Parliamentary Aspirant Killed in a Car Crash

A Jubilee Party aspirant for Kitutu Chache South parliamentary seat has died from injuries sustained in a car crash. Leonard Gwaru Mwamba passed away at Christa Marianne Hospital on Friday evening while receiving treatment for injuries from a crash that happened along the Kisumu-Kisii highway earlier in the day.
Police say Gwaru was traveling along the highway in a Toyota Prado when the vehicle veered off the road to avoid hitting a child who was crossing the road. The vehicle hit a speed bump at a high rate of speed. It hit the child and killed him on the spot. Another occupant of the Prado also died on the spot, with Gwaru and a third occupant dying later in the hospital.
Gwaru and the other vehicle occupants were on their way to King’ong’i for a campaign rally.
Jubilee leaders called the passing of Gwaru a shock and a big shock for the party. "We are shocked and saddened at the loss of Mr Mwamba," said Anthony Kibagendi, the Kitutu Chache South Jubilee Party campaign team manager.
