Kibaki in Good Health, Mary Wambui Assures Kenyans

Othaya MP Mary Wambui has assured Kenyans that retired President Mwai Kibaki is in good health and has not been hospitalized, contrary to widespread rumors rumors.

Wambui said she had visited with Kibaki on Thursday morning and can confirm that he is well. “I was with him in the morning and he was in good health. He asked me to greet you when I meet you,” Wambui told residents of Mukurweini, Nyeri where she was leading the UhuRutoExpress campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee Party.

There had been unsubstantiated rumors on social last week that the 85-year-old retired president had been rushed to hospital, with some bloggers going as far as publishing his obituary.
