DP William Ruto Responds to Raila's 'Nusu Mkate' Mastermind Tag

Deputy President William Ruto has responded to National Super Alliance (NASA) leader remarks that he was the mastermind of 2007/08 'Nusu Mkate' government.

The DP confessed that while he is the one who proposed that Raila and retired President Kibaki share power following a disputed 2007 presidential election, his (Raila) 'bad behavior' frustrated the shared government.

Ruto accused Raila of becoming so petty including demanding a red carpet, instead of helping Kibaki deliver on his agenda to Kenyans.

"Ni kweli mimi nilusaidia ukapata coalition government ya 2007. Lakini tabia yako mbaya ilituangaisha. Badala ya kufanya kazi ukaanza kuhangaisha mzee Kibaki hadi akashindwa kutekeleza majukumu yake," ( It is true I helped you in forming the coalition government but your bad behavior frustrtaed us. Instead of helping Mzee Kibaki deliver his agenda you frustrated him with petty demands) Ruto said in a rally in Nyandarua county on Sunday.

Ruto said that the former Prime Minister can travel to all cities in the world to woo foreigners help them a shared government, but Jubilee would not give in to it.

"You can travel to any place you so wish, be it UK or Paris, but a coalition government will not happen," Ruto said.

He lashed out at Raila for calling fringe Presidential candidates stooges, adding that the stooges are better than him, since they don't run to foreign countries to beg for help.

"It is better to be a Jubilee stooge than a stooge to foreigners. This man instead of campaigning he has put a lot of demands compounded with demos until he is confused himself," He said.

Ruto urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to assent to the election bill into law before the forthcoming election as they would seal all the gaps that Raila might use to frustrate the election through courts.
