IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba Steps Aside, Days to the October 26th Repeat Election

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba is taking a three-week leave of absence and will be away when the repeat presidential election is conducted next week, reports Daily Nation.

Sources told Daily Nation that the embattled Chiloba is stepping away “in order to build confidence in stakeholders” and avoid being a distraction.

This follows weeks of demonstrations by National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders and supporters who have been calling on him to step aside.  The opposition side has been accusing him of rigging the nullified August 8th election in favor of Jubilee, despite the Supreme Court not finding anyone culpable of rigging or manipulating the votes.

In addition to Chiloba, NASA has been calling for the ouster of Prof Guliye who used to head the subcommittee on research, strategy and ICT, ICT director James Muhati, voter registration and electoral operations director Immaculate Kassait, head of operations Betty Nyabuto among others.

Chiloba said he believes the commission will still deliver a credible election even without his presence because sufficient preparations had been done to address the gaps identified by the Supreme Court, the source told Daily Nation.

Chiloba’s move comes only two days after Dr Roselyn Akombe resigned from the commission, saying partisan politics had been injected into the commission and commissioners were based their decisions based on partisan lines. She said the did not believe the IEBC could deliver a credible election on October 26th, and as such did not want to be part of it (READ: Former IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe Breaks into Tears During an Interview with NPR Radio in the US)

Change Of Political Tone: Uhuru Surrenders !
October 20, 2017
ShareTweetPinMail
Lifted from Faith Hakala

Change Of Political Tone:

1. Uhuru Kenyatta:

“I am ready to sit down and have a conditional dialogue with Hon Odinga over the repeat polls. I admit that we have a problem as a country and only the two of us can solve the current mess. It will however not be talks on coalition government.”

2. Kilemi Mwiria:

“Our constitution is not casted in stone. If the current crisis may lead us into chaos because of political misunderstanding, then let us put the election aside first and solve the mess.”

3. William Kabogo:

“I will advise my brother Wafula Chebukati not to resign. Let him promptly move to the Supreme Court to seek its guidance on postponement of election in order for them to right their wrong. From then we can have free, fair and acceptable election.”

4.Sammy Leshore:

“I am smelling blood just like I did in 1982. I am smelling blood just like I did in 2007. If this election will lead to the spillage of innocent blood, then let dialogue between Uhuru and Odinga prevail. From there the country can cool down and we can have an election.”

5.Kiraitu Murungi:

“I am undoubtedly an ardent supporter of Uhuru Kenyatta and I played pivotal role in the formation of jubilee party. But there comes a time when political partisanship must be put aside and the national interest put forward. My honest opinion is that Uhuru and Raila should talk even if it will mean postponing elections.”

6. Stanley Kiptis:

“As the Governor of Baringo county, I know what bloodshed means. We cannot have an election that will again be delegitimized and probably annulled then we get back to square one. Let us create a level play ground by giving IEBC extension of time to fully prepare for the race.”

7.Alfred Keter:

“Luos, Luhyas, Kisiis et cetera live in Nandi Hills together with Kalenjins amicably. Do you think it is morally right that a simple election preceded with a crisis should be the reason our people should maim and hack each other to death? No! Let us unite our people and get into an election smiling. Even if it will be January.”

8. Oscar Sudi:

“We have worked with Raila in the past. We know his capabilities especially when all of you know the support that he enjoys. Let us stop this dismissive attitude directed towards Raila Odinga And vent out our issues. If not so, we may regret as a country because of a simple act.”

Now because the NASA mole who made it difficult for IEBC to make any decision, without her nossy-self hovering on the Chairman like he was a retard, resigned her busy-bodied self and went 'home' to the US where all process and systems work... where people don't have to do the hard work to lay processes and systems that work....people just wake up to working 'things' that dropped down like manna from heaven....oh ya, Chiloba now you can get a breather, HEY, CHILOBA, usilale sana, remember to vote!

This is ridiculous, he has put things of rigging in place and he is taking vacation to fool kenyans. The truth came out last night how he was against reform at the IEBC.He might as well stay in permanently for ever till jubillee gives him another senior job.He is pretending to have left thinking that Kenyans are stupid after training his team on how to rigg on 10/26/17 election.Son of abitch.

Wasted deed Chiloba. Nothing will appease this monster Kenyans have created. You were, but just one of their many bottomless excuses. I fear it is too late.

Just watched Miguna Miguna dissecting their game plan on Larry Madowo (although he claims to be neutral). In short, they intend to overthrow Uhuru whilst crying fowl. Very calculated. Hope my relatives have stocked up for that day. Lord, take the wheel!

They need to be prosecuted for desertion in court martial. Those who want to resign they should do it as soon as possible

Good compromise and a-back-to-ballot window for Rao-baba wise man changes his mind to become a statesman. These happenings if well managed will make a great democracy (and political documentary) out of Kenya contrary to doomsday prophecies abound.

Exactly. Wise folks wait for the pawns to make their move then they decide what makes the most sense. Akombe is now on a path of destruction, so there is no need for Chiloba to give Nasa any more fodder to use against Kenyans. He is a statesman and will not need any freebies to be recognized as such.

MaragA. What You're Doing and Saying here in ABEITING and ENEBLING Electoral Malpractices in Kenya. FYI: Ms. Roselyn Akombe is the StatesLADY here; NOT this Chiloba You're Callung a STATESMAN (yet he Presided Over the Rigging and Stealing of an Election). Ms. Akombe Resigned with INTEGRITY; Chiloba has Steped Aside with Suspucion. You know what? You must not only be in DENIAL (of Jubilee's Electoral Fraudulence) but You're ALSO in Your FAKING (Pretending/ Hypocritical) Mind (that Can't Handle the Bitter Truth).

Chilobae its too late. you have done your godfather biding by placing the algorithm in the server now you want to fool kenyans. Thorough reforms needed and jubilee's influence cut off completely for a free and credible election. NO ELECTION 26TH. Too late.

BTW, happy mashujaa day to everyone. Let's take a moment to reflect on our past and journey taken by our forefathers and ask ourselves how we, as individuals have enriched what we luckily inherited from them, i.e INDEPENDENCE.

Sukari (not verified)     Fri, 10/20/2017 @ 06:25am

Chilobo, it's a pity you stepped aside a day before Mashujaa day. You stood the chance to go down this honourable recognition had you not buckled under the bullies pressures.
