Kiambu Governor James Nyoro Denies Picking Caroline Ndung'u for Deputy Governor Seat

Kiambu Governor James Nyoro has denied reports claiming that he has nominated Caroline Ndung'u for the position of deputy governor.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Governor Nyoro said he was yet to settle on a candidate for the position and was still making consultations on who to pick.
“When it comes to the issue of nominating a deputy we shall make an official announcement on the matter. Let those spreading that information about the nomination continue talking,” said Nyoro.
Reports circulating on social media earlier in the day claimed that Nyoro had nominated Ms. Ndung’u, the former Marketing and Corporate Relations Director of Absa Bank PLC Kenya.
Nyoro was sworn-in as the new Kiambu Governor following the impeachment of Ferdinand Waititu over gross misconduct and abuse of office.
During the press briefing, Governor Nyoro sent his condolences to the family and friends of Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi, who was found dead in his hotel room in Mumbai, India on Wednesday. Omondi, who was on official duty in India, is said to have suffered a heart attack.
