Former IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba Lands Government Appointment

Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba has landed a government appointment.

Chiloba was appointed to the Youth Enterprise Development Fund board by ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.

He will serve as a member of the board for a term of three years effective December 22nd, 2020.

The Youth Enterprise Development Fund is a state corporation under the Ministry of ICT and whose task is to provide financial and business development support services to youth-owned enterprises.

Chiloba’s latest appointment comes about two years after he was fired from IEBC after he failed to appear before the disciplinary committee to respond to audit queries.

His tenure at IEBC was marred by controversy and calls for him to resign over claims of bungling the 2017 presidential election that was nullified by the Supreme Court on the grounds of irregularities and illegalities.

“My employment termination should not be seen as an issue of my person but that of the holder of the office. It brings to focus the major governance crisis at the IEBC; an issue that will affect even the next officeholder if the matter is not addressed,” Chiloba said after his sacking.

Following his sacking, Chiloba retreated to his farm in Trans Nzoia and has been living away from the public limelight. In an interview, he said he decided to venture into agri-business.

“Don’t think Chiloba is idle. I’m busy in the village. I have much peace here. I am so tired of the noises out there. My target is to transform this piece of land into something more productive.”

“I bought this land in 2011 but I had not put it to proper use because I was busy with the planning of the 2017 elections. This is the right time to make it useful,” he said.

Now let’s see what conspiracy lunatic theories Akombe will come up with against chiloba!

This guy should have been in charge of EIBC. He is more level headed and knowledge than the dig butt Chebukati who has destroyed the reputation of the EIBC!

Chebukati is also a more that works with Akombe and Ruto to destabilize other government institutions.
