Shock as Five Family Members Found Brutally Murdered in Kiambu

A somber mood engulfed Karura village in Kiambaa, Kiambu County after five family members were found murdered.

Njoroge Warunge, his wife, two children, and niece were found dead in their home on Wednesday, a day after their farmhand was also found brutally killed.

The body of Warunge, who was hacked to death, was found lying within his compound while the rest were found murdered inside the house.

On Tuesday, the body of the family’s casual laborer was found dumped in a neighboring compound with police opening investigations into his murder.

Witnesses said the worker’s head had been severed and dumped outside his employer’s house while the torso was left at the neighboring compound.

Reports indicate the bodies of the murdered family were not discovered alongside that of the farmhand as officers who cleared the scene did not check inside Warunge’s compound.

Neighbors became suspicious after the phones of Warunge’s family went unanswered, leading to the discovery of their bodies on Wednesday morning.

Detectives from the homicide unit have launched a probe into the murders that have left residents in shock.

Investigators suspect the killers were on an elimination mission given that nothing was stolen from the family’s house.
