Former MP Caleb Kositany Denies Being Appointed Kenya’s Ambassador to the US

Former Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany has responded to reports that President Ruto has appointed him as the new Kenyan ambassador to the United States.

Kositany, through a statement on Thursday, dismissed the reports, stating that government appointments have official procedures that they follow.

"Government appoints through a gazette notice, ignore the rumour," he said.

Kositany, who represented Soy in the National Assembly between 2017 and 2022, sought to run for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in the last election but lost during the UDA nominations to Jonathan Bii, who is the current governor.

Lazarus Amayo, who was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2020, is still the Kenyan ambassador to the US.
