Kenya-Italy relations will receive a boost next month when Italian President Sergio Mattarella visits the country.
On Friday, President Ruto said Mattarella’s visit will enhance cooperation between the two countries in key sectors such as water, agriculture, and tourism.
"President Mattarella's visit is a high point in our relationship and we are looking forward to fruitful discussions on water harvesting, distribution and irrigation,” he said.
The president noted that the people of Kenya and Italy have a long and unique relationship epitomized by Malindi, a popular destination for many Italian tourists and investors.
Ruto was speaking when he met the Italian Ambassador to Kenya Roberto Natali at State House, Nairobi on Friday.
On his part, Ambassador Natali said the Italian government and the private sector are committed to investing in water provision and harvesting in Kenya.
