Diaspora PS Says No Kenyan Reported Injured or Dead in Turkey and Syria Deadly Earthquake

Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu says no Kenyan has so far been affected by the deadly earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday.
Through her Twitter account, Njogu said the embassy in Ankara has not received reports of any Kenyan injured or killed and provided an emergency hotline and other contact details that affected Kenyans can reach out with.
"Following today’s tragic earthquake in Turkey and N. Syria, @KenyaEmbAnkara confirms no reports of any Kenyan dead or injured. Kenyans affected by this earthquake can call the embassy hotline +90(538)502 0960, email diaspora@mfa.go.ke or DM us at @Diaspora_KE cc @ForeignOfficeKE," she tweeted.
"Such a tragedy this #earthquake is for Turkey and Syria. Our deepest condolences to you. Our thoughts, prayers and love for the bereaved families and hope for recovery for the injured."
At least 4,890 deaths had been confirmed as of Tuesday morning after a powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocked the two countries.
Turkey’s disaster authority on Tuesday said the death toll from the earthquake had risen to 3,381, 20,426 people had been injured and 5,775 buildings collapsed. In Syria, 1,451 deaths and 3,531 injuries have been reported by officials.
