Raila's ODM Party Accuses President Ruto of Using Stolen Money to Buy Azimio MPs

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has played down the move by a group of MPs to shift to President Ruto’s camp.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Raila Odinga-led party said the MPs’ visit to State House did not come as a surprise as most of them were being monitored in the run-up to the visit.
"The visit to State House this morning by a section of ODM Members of Parliament has not come as a surprise to the party and the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Movement," read the statement by ODM Director of Communications Phillip Etale.
"The party has been monitoring closely the behind-the-scenes activities involving some of them and today was just the climax."
Etale noted that the leaders decided to undermine the party's leadership and go against the will of the people, who elected them to their positions.
The party further accused the “illegitimate” Kenya Kwanza administration of using stolen funds to buy some leaders in order to thwart ODM and Azimio’s planned countrywide rallies.
"Three months ago, the Azimio la Umoja leadership began rallies to push for the reclamation of its victory from the hands of the illegitimate administration in order to provide the leadership Kenyans want, but all along, we knew the enemy will not sit pretty," ODM noted.
"They have started spending stolen money to hoodwink some of our leaders with the aim of trying to scuttle our activities. Such meetings are aimed at diverting the attention of Kenyans from issues they are faced with, ranging from the high cost of living, unbearable school fees for their children, and corruption."
While urging Kenyans to ignore the leaders, Etale said the Azimio movement remains unstoppable and that the planned rallies across the country will go on.
"We know that in the quest for legitimate leadership, there are those who will fall by the wayside, and some will be compromised, but the MOVEMENT remains unstoppable. This is a people’s movement aimed at defending the constitution of the land. History will judge harshly leaders who want to betray Kenyans by accepting handouts to scuttle the activities of the movement," Etale added.
Some of the ODM leaders who were hosted by President Ruto at State House on Tuesday included Tom Ojienda (Kisumu), Shakeel Shabir (Kisumu Town East), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo) Phelix Odiwour AKA Jalango (Langata), and Mark Nyamita (Uriri).

"Raila's ODM Party Accuses President Ruto of Using Stolen Money to Buy Azimio MPs"
This is a clear admission that Azimio Mpigs are not men of integrity, and that they have no loyalty to their party or its tenets.Hey if they can be bought, dont blame the buyer.Just get more money and buy them back. When you buy a hooker,do you really think that she is for keeps?
As I have always said, for our institutions to be respected, and productive,we need them to be run by men,and women of integrity. There measure of success or failure is a reflection of the men who run them.So voters, think twice before you cast your vote.

What would be the point of marrying a prostitute?. Are you sure you can stand the smiles, catcalls, and greetings from her "customers" when you are out and about? Just enjoy the-pay per- action encounter and let "mwangi" have a run at it- the usual way. That's what prostitutes are for.

You hit the nail on the head. It can't be explained any better.
By the way Kenyans have a long history of betrayal and selling out. The former home guards were bought by the British etc, etc.

Shoney, the Azimio is afraid of recalling them because one they may not get the required signatures and two even if they did they are even more afraid they may win back this time with Kenya Kwanza.

RAO, it appears he is blaming the use of stolen money to cause the defection.Would money garnered through " unstolen" means be justified? These "hookers" could careless whether it was blood money, petrdollar,or ransome cash,so long as it was legit to circulate in the economy,or hide in offshore accounts.

Raila: What do you expect from a person who calls himself a professional "hustler?" Do you remember the YK 92 project? This is the same man (Samoei) who, along with Jirongo came up up with a 500 shilling note and distributed it to the people in order to assist Toroitich be re-elected after the multi-party democracy was introduced in Kenya in 1992.
After their "hustling" project, the Kenyan shilling was devalued and has not yet fully recovered about 30 years later..

Such useless waste of breath coming from grown men is what has made our politics so childish and utterly irresponsible. Without any evidence they tell the whole country: some ODM MPs were bought. Using stolen money. By Kenya kwanza. Also, note: ODMs are holding Kenyans hostage with Demos because, they say; we (uhuru and Raila), left Ruto with high cost living, unbearable school fees and corruption in the country, yet in almost six months, Ruto has not fixed up all these problems. Therefore we must throw him out of the State House. And those are the type of brains that want to take over the State House and lead 47 Million people! Wake Up people- Country First!

@ Ndugu(Mpya) Imara Daima, may be the devalued shilling had the unintended benefit of attracting foreign investments.I dont know if that happened. However, From Kenyatta Senior to current president,Ruto, all are corrupt to varying degrees. And all have used tools in their possession,or at disposal, to guarantee success;notably bribing the electorate.
The problem with selling your vote is that, when the politician does not deliver, you cannot blame him or her.You have already been awarded in advance. If only our voters could voter primarily on principle, some of our leaders today would be somewhere else probably in prison. So as we demand ethical behavior, and integrity from our leaders, let us not vote for those who have neither.Tell them,"our votes are not for sale.Just deliver on your promise, and we assure you another term".
