In a gazette notice on Friday, Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba appointed Itumbi a member of the newly-established Talanta Hela Council for a period of three years.

The broke government is creating all these useless positions.

  2. ApacheFeb 11, 2023

It's sad that the government is rewarding jobs to celebs whom already have a steady income yet there are highly qualified youths out there without jobs

  3. BmorFeb 11, 2023

It's precisely my point. In Kenya you have to be famous to get a job. Look at all those celebrities they earning a living then on top given a job yet so many jobless youth

Huyu Yai bibi ya Manii anakuaga na bahati toka siku za muzoga Kibaki.Connections, network and brokerage must have made him a multi billionaire by now.

I read comments by @Kenya & Co in another story complaining that their tribes were not appointed.I wish (s)he explains when Luo,Gikuyu,Tugen,Kamba,Maragoli tribes were renamed Akothee,Itumbi,Kipkirui,Ndambuki,Kizito respectively. Those appointees are individuals and none of them represents the complaining fools at any level.

In all those names, the only sports figure I recognize is,"Julius KIplagat Yego"I assume that he is one and the same athlete fondly known as,"youtube man".
The aformentioned celebrities in my view do not have any credentials from the sports world. So I wonder exactly what they will be doing.Well, as for now, what they will be doing is not as important as what they will do when election time comes.Right now Ruto is just mobilizing his forces, and greasing the hustler wheelbarrows(HWs) in preparation for another term...

  8. DerickFeb 12, 2023

Pure lies… this is just hoodwinking those who speak against the ills in the government to shut them up. Ordinary Kenyans just buckle up for a ride of a lifetime. Why give jobs to those who already got jobs while other capable Kenyan youth have no jobs?

I wish Kabwere was still alive, coz whoever cursed our leaders couldn't match Kabwere's.

Kenya is a nation for the powerful. Hustlers are on their own. They exist in name only. Their only value is their vote.

Imagine working so hard to qualify for a slot in Kenya's cross country team. You qualify, and send to the training camp for amonth. A week left for the departure you are told that, there has been a VISA hitch and that cannot trave and present your country. This happened to at least 2 athletes who were supposed to represent Kenya at the world champioships in Oragon,USA last Year. Some of you will remember that our sprinter sensation barely made it to Oragon.
It has happened again folks. 4 members of the cross country team with not travel to Australia for the World corss country championships being help in Australia this coming weekend. They dont have VISA...
What say you CS Namwamba? How can this keep on happening?Couldn't be due to incompetency of your staff .Could it?You may be excused for last year's mishaps, but not this latest one.
