Kenya Offers to Deploy Police Officers to Haiti to Battle Gangs

Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua says Kenya has offered to send police officers to Haiti to fight the gangs that continue to unleash a reign of terror on civilians.

Mutua made the announcement after a phone conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly where they discussed the Haiti situation.

"We reviewed Haiti's situation where gangs have made towns & peoples' lives unbearable. In this regard, Kenya has offered to send police officers to assist in stabilizing the country. Canada is one of the nations at the forefront in supporting Haiti’s process towards stability," Mutua said on Twitter.

The two also discussed the ongoing crisis in Sudan which began on April 15th after two rival factions of the military government disagreed over how the country should transition to civilian rule.

"We both called on an immediate ceasefire and respect of #HumanRights & called on countries undermining Sudan’s peace and stability to refrain from doing so immediately," Mutua said.

"Additionally, we agreed to support each other in the evacuation of our citizens."

At the same time, Mutua pointed out that the Kenya-Canada partnership would provide opportunities for Kenyans to work in Canada as well as open up mutual investment opportunities for both countries.

"Already, we are adjusting our TVET curriculum to meet the Canadian Labour market so that Kenyan graduates can qualify for immediate placement in Canada," he noted.

"We are keen to not only attract Canadian investors to Kenya but also open up the Canadian market for value-added products from Kenya."

Kenya has 100% crime everywhere yet you are offering your incompetent kashimo ka mavi police to go place like Hairi? Gangs will slaughter you and have you for dinner fools. Worry about your shithole country

With all the bandits terrorizing our own farmers and gangs in our own cities which the police can't handle now you want to export our mostly bure and hongo minded police officers? They will go and either start taking bribes or be killed like dogs by the no nonsense gangs in Haiti. What a useless idea..

This is quite misplaced indeed. Why send cops to Hairi while Nairobi and other towns are ingested with criminal gangs, etc? These crooked CAs dont get it!

Kenyan soldiers lives are not disposable.Let the Canadians send their own military if they are genuinely concerned if anything the USA should be helping since most of them cross through Florida.Haiti is a lost cause they killed their own president when Biden was deporting them back by plane when they camped on the Mexico border he was showing his true colors. Two of the worst countries to be citizens of is Somalia and Haiti.Western world does not have time for black folk leave alone those always looking for handouts.Furthermore Africa should not be used to solve western problems. These people are not Africans they just happen to look African.Try helping in Sudan surely we do not need refugees pouring into Kenya from there.

Maybe put your house(Kenya) law and order first before offering to help out in Haiti, even the police cannot control the gangs in their country

Mutua makes me tend to believe “Kamuti” works! He is gonna issue every cop with a kamuti to insert in the pocket as they fight street battles in Haiti. This guy Mutua is smoking Bhang!

First order of biz learn French then hit Haiti streets like Anti Mafia special forces. Has such a stunt been pulled off anywhere in the world?

This is a great idea! Send and repatriate the whole lot of the Kenya police to Haiti or anywhere else, and import fresh police from China or India. Any police other than our rotten Kenya police will do. This is the most incompetent, most hated gang in the country.
