The Nakuru police have launched an investigation into a harrowing sex scandal involving a 42-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting numerous minors.
According to reports, the suspect allegedly targeted vulnerable children through a network of other young individuals who were purportedly paid to assist in identifying potential victims within the Naka Estate. The investigation was sparked by the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl, who was later found to have been sexually assaulted. Desperate parents, upon receiving tips from two minors involved in luring the young victim, confronted the suspect at his residence, ultimately leading to his arrest.
Reports indicate that the suspect confessed upon arrest. Police Commander Mohammed Wako confirms that the initial inquiry suggests more than ten girls may have fallen victim to the suspect's predatory behaviour. Medical examinations conducted on several minors have already yielded positive results indicative of sexual abuse. One of the victims recounts her experience, describing how she was deceived by acquaintances into believing she was being taken on an innocent shopping trip, only to find herself trapped in the suspect's grasp.
"I was already too weak and passed out. I regained consciousness while in the car on the way home. I was unaware of what had been done to me, though I was in pain. After they checked me, they learned that I had been defiled," she recalled.
After being offered an unknown substance, she lost consciousness and later awoke in agony, unaware of the horrific act she had endured. This incident has prompted community leaders and residents to call for heightened vigilance and stronger preventative measures against such heinous acts. Present during the arrest, Bishop Isaac Kamau expressed shock at the explicitly incriminating material found on the suspect's phone, which contained recordings of his assaults.
Following the arrests, the police have been granted a 14-day period to conduct further investigations. Authorities urge anyone with knowledge of similar incidents or additional victims to come forward.
