Mike Sonko Shortlists Miguna Miguna, Shebesh and 20 Others for the Position of Nairobi Deputy Governor

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has taken to Facebook to seek help from his supporters on who to choose as the county's new Deputy Governor.

In a post on Sunday evening, Sonko shortlisted 22 men and women who could replace Polycarp Igathe and asked Nairobians to help him pick one from the list. “

Great people of Nairobi, some say politics is about numbers. My Facebook has over 1,300,000 fans out of which 925,892 are Nairobi residents. I believe it is you the great people and God who have the power of nominating leaders,” he wrote.

Surprisingly, among those the Governor listed as possible Igathe's replacement is self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna, who was deported to Canada last month over his role in the mock swearing in of National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga.

Others in Sonko's list include; Citizen TV news anchor Ann Kiguta, city businesswoman Ann Kagure, former Starehe MP Bishop Margret Wanjiru and ex-Nairobi Town Clerk John Gakuo. Others are Nairobi Education CEC Janet Ouko, former Dagoretti North MP Dennis Waweru, Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga, EALA MP Simon Mbugua, city lawyer Karen Nyamu, former Kenya Tourism Board Chairperson Raymond Matiba, Polycarp Igathe, former PS James ole Kiyiapi and PS Irungu Nyakera.

The seat fell vacant after Polycarp Igathe resigned in January this year, citing strained relationship with Governor Sonko.

The money minting deputy governors',women reps,anything nominated seats should be abolished.The senate should also be scrapped.What are their duties?Governors should be directly elected once there is a vacancy.Even those governors seats must be reduced to former provinces which should be reduced further by combining Western and Nyanza then Central with Nairobi.I don't know what other Kenyans who are mostly rich but hungry and cannot afford medical care have to say.

Sonko, you are a governor who was elected by the people of Nairobi. Stop trying to impose rejects to the post of deputy... Miguna, Bishop, Shebesh, Mbugua.......
And them members of political elites..Muhoho, Gecaga, Matiba, Ouko......
Are there not ordinary Kenyans with no political backing , who voted for you and are qualified for that position?
I actually admire/ respect former deputy gov Mueke.

Some have grown up with a diamond spoon in their mouths, don't even know what thina(problems) and now Sonko is pretending to be like them. He has forgotten when he used to be hungry with a stomach full of minyoo. He has forgotten where he came from and why bondabonda guys elected him. Chafu kabisa.

You will be crazy to give Miguna any position. The guy finds it too challeging to use his brains assuming he has any. When one lacks brains, kifua is the only alternative.
