Uhuru, who addressed a joint Parliamentary sitting declared that their will be no sacred cows in his government and directed the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to pursue graft lords without fear.

“I expect the new officials now in office in prosecution and investigations to initiate cases against the most powerful and privileged, to show Kenyans that none of us are above the law,” he said.

He outlined the efforts the government has made in the war against graft, noting that assets valued at Sh500 million had been recovered.

“I urge the Judiciary to do its part to ensure that (court) orders are not frivolously used by the wealthy and corrupt individuals to avoid justice,” he said.

He challenged Kenyans to report any corruption incidences to authorities. “Families must feel ashamed by one of their member becoming involved in corruption. They must insist on the upholding of their name as a family,” he said.
