A 41-year-old Kenyan man in Massachusetts was among 13 suspects arrested this week over allegations of trying to solicit children via social media and online classified ads.
Paul Kimata, of Brockton, Massachusetts, was arrested along with other suspects following an undercover investigation dubbed Operation Guardian carried out by Rhode Island state and local authorities, Rhode Island State Police announced on Thursday. Kimata has been charged with indecent solicitation of a child.
According to police investigators, the suspects thought they were arranging to meet with children aged between 13 and 15 years but were actually talking to undercover detectives in the state police-run Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
“Child predators are constantly looking for juveniles to exploit and prey upon,” Col. James Manni of the Rhode Island State Police said at a news briefing at the agency’s North Scituate headquarters announcing the arrests Thursday.
“Parents must remain vigilant in communicating with their children and monitoring their child’s social media platforms.”
All suspects were charged with indecent solicitation of a child while others faced separate charges, including electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor and, in one case, cocaine possession.
Police did not name the exact social media applications and online classified ads the suspects were using.
“It makes it a lot easier for predators to access children online. In the past, decades ago, there was no internet for that access to be there,” Sgt. Damien Longo of the Rhode Island State Police said.
Here is a list of all the 13 suspects:
- Michael Johnson, 50, of 177 S. Main Street, Templeton, Massachusetts, was arrested on the charges of indecent solicitation of a child and electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor.

@ seneca, this has nothing to do with how a woman looks,or dont look. These kind of fellows have a psychiatric disorder that make kids appear sexually attractive to them.Apparently they dont find beautiful mature women sexually attractive.Go figure... Well disorder or not, its acrime, and as such, these perpetrators took the risk of breaking the law.Now they have to have their day in court, which hopefully will lock them up for avery long time.I just hope that these predators were not successful...
There's a good chance he has a girlfriend. This kind'o sickness isn't caused by a lack of adult females
@seneca - huwezi kumutetea a scavenger that is abusing little girls! Wacha yeye abebe muzigo wake. Seneca, you won’t want him now no matter how lonely you are! He is soon heading to jail. Amepotea kabisa!
@seneca - just keep faith and hopes alive. You will find a good companion soon or in some distant future. It is never too late!
Why should one even have the guts to make that blunder here, Kenyan style? I don't get it. Some Kenyans think that when kina Obado, Waititu, Sonko, Waiguru, Ngirichi, Kabura, Rotich, KPLC thieves, KPC thieves, KPA thieves, etc get away with crime, it can be translated and practice. Marongo. You will soon be a hardcore inmates' wives for a couple of years. Thats one reason that have made me be an "angel" for a spanning 25 years in majuu.
Too much condemnation people. Gent made a mistake and most probably regretting it. Kimata if you ever get to read this.. know that no matter how heavy your burden is... or how awful your mistake might be.. Jesus Never condemns! He told the Woman.. “I too do not condemn you... that was the power that set her free to go and sin no more.” Once your thoughts calm down.. remember your godly roots! And there is a host of us praying for you... Peace to you Kimata.
