Uhuru Upbeat Even as Kenya’s Covid-19 Cases Rise to 343

The number of Covid-19 infections in Kenya has jumped to 343 after seven additional cases were confirmed from samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Speaking from State House, Nairobi on Saturday, President Kenyatta also announced three more patients recovered from the bug, raising the tally of Covid-19 recoveries to 98 while the number of fatalities remains at 14.

Uhuru further pointed out that the preventive measures the government imposed have paid off since the number of infections in the country is not close to the 10,000 cases medical experts had projected by the end of April.

“At the beginning of the pandemic, our medical experts had estimated that if we had not taken action they had projected that 10,000 people would have been infected by the end of April. However, due to determined mitigating measures, both by the national and county governments we are now only at 343 confirmed cases,” he noted.

He added: “I am encouraged by the progress we have made by I wish to remind Kenyans that we are yet to be victorious.”

He urged Kenyans to remain disciplined and continue following the safety guidelines issued by the Health Ministry.

“I want to thank the millions of Kenyans for showing discipline and responsibility because it is this attitude by law-abiding Kenyans that are saving thousands of families from grieving for those who would otherwise be lost to coronavirus,” he added.

Kenya, should not open schools or churches for the rest of the year.
We need to save our children lives from Covid-19 by leaving our children home to bond with their parents and to get real education from their parents and communities as the days of old. This quarantine has proved to be beneficial to the black community. A time to reflect!! A time to ask Who are we to ourselves and to our communities? What is our contribution to our families and our communities? A time to communicate with our God and our ancestors!! We should be a renewed family, village, community, and black nation of the world when we get out of quarantine!!
