Results of the DV-2021 Green Card lottery (Diversity Visa) will be available online starting tomorrow, Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 12pm EDT.
Individuals who registered for the lottery during the open registration period that ran between October 2nd, 2019 and November 5th, 2019 will need to have their confirmation number, last/family name, and birth year to check if they won.
The State Department, which runs the program, had initially announced the results would be available starting on May 5, 2020, but the results were delayed by a month due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
The Diversity Visa program, popularly known as the green card lottery, makes 50,000 green cards (permanent resident visas) available to nationals of countries with low immigration rates to the United States in the last five years.
For DV-2021, nationals of the following countries were not eligible to participate in the program because they had a higher rate of immigration to the US than the 50,000 annual threshold: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland-born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam.
Kenyan nationals were eligible to participate in the DV-2021 lottery.

i would like to know why they say all to keep their confirmation numbers until sept 2021. Does this mean if one check the status and find not selected, can this change afterwards until sept 2021?
