Deceased Juja MP Francis Waititu's Family Fight over Sh300 Million Estate

The family of the late Juja MP Francis Waititu “Wakapee” is embroiled in a property dispute barely a week after his burial.

The battle over the control of the Sh300 million estate left behind by the politician is between the children of Waititu’s deceased wife on one side and their stepmother Susan Munyua and her children on the other side.

Michael Munyua and Terry Njeri have sued their stepmother Susan and her children as they seek control of the multi-million-shilling estate.

"Our stepmother Susan and her offspring have taken it upon themselves to assume the sole administration of our father's estate, which we urge the court to stop with immediate effect," Michael says in an affidavit.

The property in contention includes Waititu’s home in Juja, residential properties in Juja, Ruiru, and Thika, as well as shares in a number of blue-chip companies. The matter was set to be heard on March 5th but it was postponed.

The two further accuse Susan and her children; Martin Munyua, Christine Njeri, and Dinah Wanja of denying their father proper medical care, misusing property, extortion, and embezzlement of Constituency Development Fund through illegal dealings.

Michael and Terry want the court to bar the four from managing the estate, accusing them of looting their father's property.

"Your humble petitioners, therefore, pray for a declaration that Terry Njeri Munyua and Michael Munyua Waititu be appointed the joint legal guardians of Hon Francis Munyua Waititu and joint managers of his estate," their petition read in part.

The two claim that the respondents took advantage of their father's illness to sell his cars, land, and other properties.

Waititu died while undergoing treatment at MP Shah Hospital on February 22nd after a long battle with brain cancer.

Sorry to see even the "enlightened" don't believe in executing a will even when death is imminent. All we think is will writing is asking for the death to come soon though there is another alternative in the long run. Some primitive thinking is what creates enmity in otherwise very stable families. Similar cases have been happening over and over and smart elites people learn basically nothing. Continue being in denial, it's coming to you soon.
