Raila Odinga Signals 2027 Presidential Bid

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has alluded to a potential bid for the presidency in 2027, marking his sixth attempt.

In a recent address, Odinga made subtle references to his intentions of overthrowing the existing administration and encouraged his followers to be prepared for his guidance. He stressed that he has no plans of retiring from the political arena and dared President William Ruto to brace himself for a showdown. While talks circulate about his possible retirement, Odinga unequivocally affirmed his commitment to remain an active participant in the realm of politics.

Several individuals have been proposed as potential successors within the coalition, including Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Wycliffe Oparanya, Eugene Wamalwa, and George Wajackoyah. President Ruto has previously stated that the ODM leader is unlikely to participate in the upcoming elections, instead favouring Mr Musyoka as the candidate. Mr Odinga has since clarified this, emphasizing that Azimio remains united and plans to reemerge even stronger. He stresses he importance of support in order for their movement to thrive, particularly with the upcoming grassroots elections in April and the preparations for 2027.

Mr. Odinga is primarily concerned about the exorbitant cost of living. He has outlined Azimio's goals, which include promoting development, tackling healthcare and education issues, and fostering agricultural wealth creation. The opposition leader has pointed out that many Kenyans are struggling due to the high taxes imposed by Ruto's regime. Furthermore, Mr. Odinga has continued to convey his dissatisfaction with the ineffectiveness of the Kenya Kwanza government's initiatives, such as the Hustler Fund and the bottom-up economic model

The opposition leader had previously highlighted their own economic empowerment plans, which included providing financial assistance of Sh6,000 to vulnerable families. The Azimio leader now emphasizes that Ruto's promises have not materialized, resulting in the suffering of boda boda riders and mama mbogas. The ODM leader asserts that no country can progress by imposing taxes, likening the current economic situation to someone digging a hole and expecting to climb out while remaining in the same hole.

Kalonzo, Wamalwa and Oparanya will be stupid fools to stand behind this. Better go alone and loose on your own merits than be fooled into this again.

In 2027, Odinga will be close to 80.Meaning that his brain would not be as sharp, and alert.Facts of life. Gone are the days we used to elect a leader due to his,or her age-old wisdom... In addition to wisdom ,Today we need a leader who is intellectually, and academically 'loaded' ,and more importantly stand up to world leaders, and be resolute, and not cower for fear of financial aids being slashed. And on the home front, be able to hang thieves, murderers, and rapists.
And above all , a leader who has integrity, dignity, and is ethical.

Political positions were never supposed to be lifetime jobs. Public service is gone. The politicians are in office to help themselves and their families. How did they all get to be rich and wealthy?Just ask yourself this,Would you let your child jump from an airplane with an 78yr old parachute instructor? What about an 78yr old motor bike racer, would you trust them??? How about an 78yr old scuba diver? Then why do we put our society in the hands of these other fossils? There should be Age limits and term limits. Period

NDUGU RAILA JUMA OGINGA:

It's time to let go the idea of being a president of Kenya. Had Wafula Chebukati read Chapter 6 of the New Constitution of Kenya during the last and other past presidential elections, neither you, Ndugu Uhuru Ngina Kamau, nor Ndugu Samoei Cherop Ruto would have been cleared to run for any elective public office in Kenya.

Hopefully, coming the next election (2027), a new and more competent IEBC chairperson will look into all potential candidates vying for the Kenya presidency and clear only those who can pass the basic requirements of a clean candidate without any skeletons in their closets according to Chapter 6 of our constitution.

Great ambition old man, we'll never tire to see your victories "stolen", your "mass actions" helping depopulate Kisumu, decorating our streets with rocks and coloring our skies black with tire smoke. Keep on keeping on, age is on your side.
