East Africa's Hunger Crisis Nears Catastrophic Levels as Food Insecurity Worsens

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has sounded an alarm over the escalating hunger crisis in East Africa, with the number of people facing high levels of acute food insecurity across six countries in the region nearly tripling over the past decade. In a stark reminder of the deepening crisis, IGAD reports that 40.3 million people are currently grappling with severe food shortages, a significant increase from previous years.
