Miguna Miguna Appoints Spokesperson after 'Fake News' about Him

Embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna has appointed a spokesperson and a social media manager following what he said was false news about his whereabouts.

In a statement from Dubai, the self-made National Resistance Movement (NRM) general announced two indviduals persons who will handle his matters on his behalf.

Miguna announced that Liliam Asiimwe, a Canadian and Ferdinand Ogumah will be the only individuals who are mandated to issues statements on his behalf.

The move came after widely circulated rumors on social media alleging that he was headed to Canada after Kenyan authorities deported him to Dubai on Wednesday night.

"I have only authorized the following individuals to speak or act on my behalf: Lilian Asiimwe (+16479827903) is my only official spokesperson and coordinator, including coordinating media and fundraising activities.  Ferdinand Ogumah will be solely responsible for publishing on my verified social media platforms," he explained in a Facebook post.

He also urged anyone with enquiries to forward them via email- info@migunamiguna.com.

The former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant further said that his family and lawyers will pick spokespersons, who will issue communications on behalf of the two.

"Please treat anyone else purporting to speak on my behalf as an imposter," Miguna wrote.

Miguna was kicked out of the country on Wednesday night, a day after arriving at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where he was denied entry.

He says he is currently stranded at the Dubai International Airport after resisting attempts to be flown to Canada via London. He maintains he will only agree to fly back to Nairobi.
