Kenyan Woman in Seattle, Washington Shot Dead by 85-Year-Old Granny She was Hosting in Her House

Kenyan Woman in Seattle, Washington Shot Dead by 85-Year-Old Granny She was Hosting in Her House

A Kenyan woman died while her sister survived after they were shot by an 85-year-old woman, whom they were hosting at their newly-purchased house in Seattle, Washington on Thursday.

Janet ‘Jay’ Oyuga died at the scene while her sister, Angela was rushed to Harborview Hospital in Seattle after she was shot in the chest. The elderly woman identified by neighbors as Beverly Jenne is said to have shot Janet first and hid her body as she waited for her sister Angela to get home from her late shift, according to reports.

Jenne reportedly fired at Angela as she was walked up the stairs. Fortunately, she survived and is currently admitted at Harborview Hospital with a gunshot wound.

The two Kenyan sisters had recently bought the new home on auction and out of kindness, they decided to host Jenne, who had reportedly lived in the same house for 40 years and had nowhere to go.

Federal Way police say they are still working to figure out the motive behind the shooting of the two women, who are in their 30s. Neighbors said they heard shouting followed by four to five gunshots at around 1 a.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of SW 306TH Lane.

“It’s frightening when something like that happens so close,” said Toni Gish, a neighbor.

Neighbors described Jenne as a “sweet” old woman with one saying she weighs 97 pounds and that he would help her down the stairs.

“We’re not going to make a determination on arresting until we can figure out more down the road – to determine if she’s a suspect or victim,” said Cmdr. Kurt Schwan with the Federal Way Police Department.

The Kenyan community in the United States has joined hands to help the family of the deceased in planning her funeral.

Kenyans should be calling on justice to prevail. Angela was shot walking home?? How can she not be the victim?

A a small % of police force is doing injustice and insulting the intelligence of professional "well educated" officers; qualification to be a police office need to be reevaluated and the bar raised. Raising the bar will filter out those with slow or defective processors in their "CRANIUM"

Angela, we Kenyans wish you GOD speed in your recovery. And May Jay Oyuga R.I.P.

Jenne, and those who portray her as a “sweet Old Lady", may be you can all learn from humanity the Kenyan sisters showed to this cold calculated evil human being if we were to give her the benefit of doubt of possessing any human traits.

We are not going to make an arrest until we determine if she was a victim? Are these people serious?

If she was a victim, why would she hide the body and wait for the sister? Why had she not called the police before to report it? This is cold blood murder. Ohh wait it will be a case of dementia or some sort of mental illness which for skme reason never makes you never forget to use a weapon for f**ks sake.

Poleni sana to these family of good samaritans. My condolences. Quick recovery for the surviving sister.

Really? my blood is boiling....not arresting her after she killed and hid the body and then hid in waiting to kill her sister. People better call foul!!! I'm sure if skin colour was reversed they wouldn't blink on that arrest issues. I call bullshit!!! People speak up!!!!

Bitch must be white cause a BLACK woman who shoots 2 white ladies in this case is AUTOMATICALLY a suspect. This is America. This how shit works over here ....smdh

  6. AbatoDec 25, 2019

A black person would be a culprit. There is racist undertones and race soldier cover up in this story!

  7. NancyDec 24, 2019

This is where the main problem arises, why would they host the previous owner of the home? I am sure she has relatives. "The two Kenyan sisters had recently bought the new home on auction and out of kindness, they decided to host Jenne, who had reportedly lived in the same house for 40 years and had nowhere to go."

I see no reason to blame them: simple demonstration of African hospitality. Moreover, they did not have the slightest thought that such would have been the outcome.

  9. RelDec 25, 2019

They didn’t know she had the intention to kill them they were just being nice being that it was the lady’s old home. You can’t blame them

  10. Onesmus OchuonyoDec 24, 2019

Angela, we Kenyans wish you a speedy recovery. And May Jay Oyuga R.I.P. Regardless of the circumstances that led to that, Jenne should be in police custody charged with first degree murder.

My condolences go to the family of the deceased.
@ Gitonga Mwangi, exactly my sentiments. She probably has mental issues, coupled with the feeling that these"foreigners" are taking my home of 40years.Hard to imagine an act of kindness truly to tragic situation...Certainly something does not add up here. This is not act of a"sweet" old lady who weighs 97 Ibs.Of couse that does not mean that she cannot pull a trigger .It just seems there is more to this story.

  12. ProphetDec 24, 2019

There goes the moronic foolishness ....how can she be a victim if she is the killer and would have been homeless in the cold streets except for the kindness of these hardworking immigrant women.America can.sometimes.be a shameful country., press.for justice for the two Kenyan immigrants

  13. GuestDec 24, 2019

The oldlady pulled the trigger out of malice but for 97 did she not have any relatives who could take her in.Again someone mentioned she formally owned the home therefore she knew where to hide the bodies.Obviously some jealous relative or friend convinced her that these foreigners were stealing her home .They do not need to arrest the 97 year old lest she die of shock or exhaustion on the way to jail or in custody. For 97 she must have had a caretaker or relative who checked in on her or even a medical assistant like home health aide or nurse she/he knows what’s up.

Many people who lose their houses in foreclosures are very bitter. Some damage their houses as much as they can before they are kicked out. It seems this old lady turned her bitterness to those who bought her house.

  15. SukariDec 24, 2019

Jeez! Racism is alive. Tosha...no arrest until it is determined if the killer was a victim or...…. if it was a brown arse, aged or not...would be a different story by now. Merry Christmas wanaWakilishi and pole to the family of these sisters.

I'm in Bellevue this week and one of the local stations reported she was charged with murder in the first and assault in the first. Prosecutors we're asking for a million $$$ in bail

  17. Ex diasporanDec 24, 2019

I agree with Nancy. Hosting the previous owner of the house who had lost it in an auction is the problem. It was jealousy, that's all.

I never trust white folks and I do not care if they are 90 years old, watu wako na damu baridi and chuki! I do not even wish to be friends ........ pole to the sisters, such an evil act

  20. Nomad EndtimesDec 26, 2019

Sorry to hear such sad news. A friend of mine told me she didn't trust whites or blacks well she is a jew. Great American lesson 101: do not trust anyone but God. Beware of hosting a stranger for a time will come when you must legally evict them no shortcuts

Jay Oyuga RIP. This old woman is a modern day sympathizer of white supremacist.. She's lived with this racist stereotype...some deep-seated hate that is based on the color for ages ... This is barbaric. This is uncalled for. This is pure wickedness... We detest White savage
